Frameworks Employed

JavaScript

JavaScript was the default front-end scripting language employed. Its universal usage, appeal and myriads of open-source frameworks to chose from - made this choice a no brainer. All interaction and transition animations are JavaScript and CSS3 enabled.
json - JavaScript Object Notation is an open-standard file format that uses human-readable text to transmit data objects consisting of attribute–value pairs and array data types. It is a very common data format used for asynchronous browser–server communication which is employed in this project.

Bootstrap

Bootstrap is the world’s most popular framework for building responsive mobile-first sites. In other words, this creation from Google puts all the scaffolding elements - html,css and JavaScript in a systematic and structural disposition that enables you to build responsive site in a fraction of the time it would have taken otherwise. It is free to use and has copious of basic templates to start you off with very minimal learning time. As with most open-source frameworks, a deeper knowledge allows you to produce more sophisticated responsive html pages.

PHP

PHP is a popular general-purpose scripting language that is predominantly used to power and manage webservers. It accounts for nearly 80% of all webservers running on the internet. It is opensource and FREE. Manage and maintained by a community truly dedicated to its openness and easily written syntax and semantics. The current stabled and secured version 7.2 was used as opposed to 7.3 which we think is still work in progress.

Easy Customisation

Dynamic content was centric to the main interface. Thus, new books particulars could easily be uploaded into the database and this process will instantaneously be reflected on the home page and the book category section respectively. Filling a form with all the books attributes including Price and CoverPage Graphics are all done through a simple form at the backend. Dynamic email branding - send to current clients and prospective one is with a click of the mouse - awesome

Responsive Website Design (RWD)

Can not stress enough the importance of this paradigm. Not having your site designed as responsive is akin to still using Windows 95. It might just still about run certain applications but at what cost - security, productivity, connectivity, efficiency and the list goes on and on. The aforementioned notwithstanding,smart-phones so omnipresent is a very compelling reason to implement RWD.

You do not want to miss out on the millions accessing the internet through this device. The desktop or laptop are no more the default gateway to the web. RWD incorporates functionalities that ensure consistent user experience irrespective of their device type when viewing and interacting with website content.

Client Main Objectives

ParagonBS is a building services company that provides general maintenance work from plumbing and carpentry to major renovation work such as extensions and new builds. Its clientele range from council tenants,property owners,local authorities to multi corporate enterprises. Our brief was to build a complete responsive website with content that reflect services provided by the company. Some times in designing a site, when the client gives you a free rein on creating the site, it gives you inspiration to think outside the box so to speak.

There are some basic fundamental rules with regards to website design - constrain by standards and specifications. The aforementioned notwithstanding, there is still a lot of scope for you to use your imagination. And that is very much what we have done here.
Overall, we wanted an interface that will showcase company's objectives in a very professional and corporate manner.

There is a bespoke responsive email functionality that allows the web-admin to send out email from a simple form with form fields just for the recipient email address and title and a sendbutton. Want the necessary info are filled in and the send button clicked, a responsive HTML5 email curated with similar interface as the website with appropriate content and graphics is sent to the recipient. Being responsive, when view on any device (desktop,laptop,tablet and smart-phone)- the experience is consistent. Emails produced this way, have a greater response rate than ordinary text email.

CSS and JavaScript provided intuitive and interactive frontend interactions. The back-end is powered by php with a functionality to send bespoke crafted branded responsive emails to contacts and prospective customers
